Is Christian Meditation rooted in the Bible? Absolutely! The Bible commands us to meditate. In Joshua 1:8, God says to meditate on His word day and night so we will obey it.
“Prayer that is born of meditation upon the Word of God is the prayer that soars upward most easily to God’s listening ears.”

What is Christian Meditation
A Form of prayer in which a structured attempt is made to get in touch with and deliberately reflect upon the Revelation of God.
Why it’s Important to Meditate
Our actions are governed by our thoughts. Therefore what we think about is extremely important. Often times, we may find our minds focusing on negative thoughts or unfortunate events that may have happened in our lives. It’s important to understand that there are consequences even for these actions such as: negative thoughts that lead to feelings of depression, stress or even anger. This is why The Bible instructs us to think on whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Philippians 4:8
Should Christians Meditate
Meditation provides a way to not only distress but to fulfill our instructions in the Bible to meditate on the Word daily. Ironically many Christians associate meditation with mid eastern religion. God’s Word say’s “My people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge”. Hosea 4:6 The truth is simply this, as Christian’s we are instructed to meditate. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. Psalm 1:2
Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy ways prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
Imagine that, not only are we instructed to meditate but according to Joshua 1:8 by doing so we will be prosperous. Simply Amazing!
